Knott’s Berry Farm
Jan 7, 2010

A few days after Christmas, members of Kairos and other Gracepoint-ers found themselves not at the usual hangouts like the Asian Ghetto or San Francisco, but at Knott’s Berry Farm down in So Cal!
Thanks to Steve Suh, who organized the tickets, we all got to see each other again, a week into our long winter break! We were able to catch up with what’s been going on over the holidays, as we waited in line for our favorite rides, like Silver Bullet, Big Foot Rapids, Log Ride, Boomerang, and Perilous Plunge!

Personally, I actually detest roller coasters (Catarina, my seat partner for Ghost Rider, knows how much I was hyperventilating as our coaster ever so slowly climbed up the track for the first drop), but I had such a great time laughing with all the sisters in Kairos and calming down the staff who were scared of the “big kid rides” (though admittedly, I was plenty scared myself!). And we had plenty of fun eating all the yummy amusement park food like funnel cake and Dippin’ Dots!

And even though we watched Snoopy’s Cool Christmas after Christmas had already passed, it was a sweet reminder of the true meaning of Christmas (with some amazing ice skating routines!), amidst all the commercialism and holiday hype. In response to Charlie Brown’s questions about the significance of Christmas, Linus shared about the birth of Jesus.
All in all, I can’t wait until our next amusement park getaway!
