News: Week of 10/13-10/18
Oct 13, 2009

It looks like a rainy week this week, folks… up until Thursday, anyways. Hope everyone stays dry and healthy! Word on the streets is that most people are now done with their first wave of midterms… that is, unless you’re in the college of chemistry where you just constantly get pummeled by midterms.
Here are the plans this week:
WED: HOTSPOT
Hot Spot is still on this week, but will be meeting by different groups. Please contact your staff for more info.
FRIDAY
FROSH LIFE GROUP + DINNER
6:30pm @ YWCA
Freshmen Life Group and dinner is back at the Y this week.
JRS+SRS SETUP
6:30pm @ 112 Wurster
The juniors and seniors have the privilege this Friday of doing setup. Please bring your own dinners and arrive at Wurster promptly by 6:30.
BIBLE STUDY
7:30pm @ 112 Wurster
We’ll be continuing with the series, The IncomPARABLE Wisdom. Please note that we’re back at Wurster this week.
RSF NIGHT
9:30pm
a2f and Kairos will be combining to have our first RSF Night of the year! If I recall correctly, the juniors won the Kairos Kleeberger Field night a few months back (though, I thought they only won it because of their sick intro; I tried to suppress it from my memory). Who will win this week? Can the freshmen take it all for the first time ever (this semester)? Can the sophomores? Oh, the suspense! Oh, the drama! Be there and be a part of it!
Group Devotion Time
DT by groups begins this week. Those of you who signed up should’ve gotten an email from Eunice. If you would still like to join, it’s not too late to sign up!
SWS Setup Team and Elderly Care Ministry

Two things here: First, we are looking for a few good men and women who will rise to the occasion of learning — and doing — the Sunday setup each week. We have an unofficial eighth core value in our church, and that is SIU — setting it up! Be a part of the team that goes every Sunday to Willard at the crack of dawn (ie, 8am) to help SIU the sound, stage, and lights. Sign up to serve in this way!
Second, we’ll need another group of people to help out with the Elderly Care Ministry, led by our Praxis people. This group will go once a month to Crown Bay. It’s a concrete opportunity to take care of “the hungry, the thirsty, the naked, and the sick” right in our own backyard. If you’d like to join ECM, please sign up.
If you can, please sign up by this Wednesday!

oh man poor college of chemistry…
but in happier news
rsfnightwoohooooo!
lookin forward to it! HEY ABE, WE CAN COME UP WITH A SICKER INTRO!
RSF night!!!! this is going to be awesome!
sign up for ECM! this is a very meaningful ministry that our church had started relatively recently!
I like hotspots by smaller groups this week!! Can’t wait to have some of the frosh guys over to Alameda as we have a great dinner and play some games. Hey, what are other groups doing?
Im sure the next installment of IncomPARABLE wisdom will be insightful as well so be sure to come out for that! Freshman LIFE groups are also on as well this week, I think – though I’m sure if there is you won’t play the same game again
I can read, it’s just that there might be another “team building activity”
the juniors (defending champs) say: bring it on!!!
the sophomores (new champs) say: IT’S BEEN BROUGHT.
