Post Friday Bible Study Fun
Aug 3, 2009
This past after-Bible study activity was amazing. I got to revisit my youth a little as we got to play on a gigantic whale at the Lawrence Hall of Science. I was at first expecting to have a great view of the bay from atop the Berkeley hills, but alas, the hills were covered in a dense fog. No worries, we decided to climb higher to find a nice clearing ABOVE the clouds! The view was incredible; it was just like a postcard with a clear night sky, bright shining moon and a blanket of clouds below us.
As we enjoyed the magnificence of God’s creation, some of us sang a few campfire songs and praise songs. We also enjoyed a delicious midnight snack of grilled hotlinks, toasted dinner rolls and hot clam chowder. What an awesome night of great food, scenic views and cozy fellowship under the stars!

That looks pretty amazing. But how come it didn’t show up on the latest post on the right side.
Whoo, that second picture is amazing! I had an awesome time with the clam chowder, sausage and seemingly endless supply of hot bread. We’ll have to go again
it’ll show if it was the indiv. kairos group pages
Looks like Larua & Amy still have not been up to the Big C
I haven’t been to the Big C either. Shall we grill up there too? Richard Tay and I were joking about how we were yelling out stuff that you don’t normally here up at LBL. Phrases like, “The soup is almost ready!”, “Who wants hot bread? Hot bread!”, “It’s burning! Flip it!”, “Hey we need the bread tray here now!”, etc. Anymore memorable ones?
Btw, those portable disposable grills were clutch!
Man, that trip little night outing was awesome. Already bought some of those portable grills for future night events! I agree with Law, that 2nd night picture is pretty awesome. Can’t wait to more fun stuff like this later in the year.
I can’t believe how fun it was to grill up above the clouds. I’ve grilled at a lot of camping places, but never from above the clouds like that.
I definitely agree that those portable grills were awesome! 6 hotlinks at a time and fast too! Great discovery!
man…the moon and the cloud layers were really awesome! it was surreal! if only we had some more ghost stories to tell…
That was pretty awesome up there (even for the short time I was there). Driving up through the fog, I half-expected a hitchhiker to jump out from nowhere. Did anyone else think like that, or is it just me?
Actually, I was thinking of a scary person dressed in all white to jump out. But alas, no such scary person. Driving down, Don and I did spot a deer chilling out on the side of the road. I would have taken a pic but m camera was in the trunk. Oh well.
The scary-girl-in-white-with-hair-covering-her-face — I was expecting to see her sitting in the backseat as I glanced at my rearview mirror.
So, who wants to go up there again, tonight?
man..that second picture is so amazing…after looking at it so many times, i am still in awe…dongses’ camera captures wonders..
