Upcoming: DT Groups & Camping Trip

sign up for DT groups and july 4th sierra camping trip with kairos

DT GROUPS
Over the summer, we’ll be having DT groups on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is a good way to exercise what we learned this week in Truth Project — the best way to intimately know God is through his Word.

If you’re interested, please sign up!

JULY 4th CAMPING TRIP

Update (6/25): We got a house up at the Sierras — we’ll have to rough it out some other time!
In order to prepare for the trip (rides, food, etc), we need to know who wants to go ASAP. Please
sign up by tomorrow night!

Kairos' trip to the Sierras in 2008

This July 4th weekend, Kairos will be camping at the Sierras! Lodges and cabins are for the weak; we’ll be roughin’ it in the woods the real way — in tents! We’ll be leaving that Friday morning (7/3) and will be back Saturday night. (However, we need some real manly brothers to leave Thursday night to scout out and save spots for the rest of us. If you fit the description, please indicate that on the form.)

I’m so sad that Amy and I won’t be able to join you guys, but have a double portion of fun for us!!

Also, these dt groups would be a perfect application for what we’ve been going over in the truth project. Hope everyone is able to make it!

  2. Mike Fu says:

Can’t wait to get started..we haven’t had groups in a while

  3. Abe Yang says:

Forgot to mention — check out our photos from Kairos 2’s previous Sierra trips:

    wow, sounds great!!

  5. robertkim says:

haha, I’m sure manly doesn’t have anything to do with the ruggedness of the outdoors, but the spirit of submission, right Abe? ;)

MAN! I’m excited~ it haven’t been camping since the last time where we saw the beautiful Lake Faucherie!

Do you have an idea of where the DT groups are going to held? I head that we don’t have the Y anymore.

  6. Carmen says:

I am so sad I won’t be there to celebrate July 4th with you guys. It was during last year’s Kairos camping trip when we found out Brother Y’s patriotism: “Jose, can you see…” and celebrated America’s “melting pan”. We will miss America!

  7. Abe Yang says:

@Robert: there is still something about the great outdoors that puts the “man” into “manliness.” But good point about submission, too. As Jack Handy once said, “It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.”

Since I’m not sure where to go with that anymore, I’ll answer your second question: I’m not sure. Location will TBD, but in the meantime, you can still sign up!

The camping trip sounds fun! I remember last year when we took those boats and rowed over to that island– that was crazy but a very fun and memorable event. Hope you guys can all make it on the trip–remember, July 3rd should be an official UCB holiday so i dont think any of you guys have class on that day.

  9. robertkim says:

I MIGHT MIGHT not be able to go on thurs. I’ll keep everyone posted

  10. Abe Yang says:

Hi everyone, I’ve updated the post re: the July 4th camping trip. Please sign up by tomorrow night!

  11. robertkim says:

either way, I got off of work Thurs night, so I can go either thurs/night or Friday morning

  12. Nelson Wong says:

Oh man, this is gonna be so fun! I’m so sad that I won’t be able to make it. Btw Robert, it’s Faucherie Lake, not Lake Faucherie.

  13. David Park says:

I’m sad that I can’t be at the camping trip :[
    Have fun everyone!

What is Kairos?

We are a Christian campus fellowship at UC Berkeley. We believe that the Bible is still very relevant in this day and age, and we live life and have fun together.
